Market Hall Fulham reinvents the idea of street food

Keeping it's original charm, the former ticket hall has a new lease of life.

Forget chain restaurants; indoor food halls are the latest trend and extra points if they are filled with independent traders. Located in the grade II-listed Edwardian former ticket hall of Fulham Broadway station, Market Hall brings the first curated indoor street food hall to the city bringing with them the sought after east London vibe to the exclusive westside.

Designed by Harry Wharton in the 1880’s the building has sat empty for the last six years. That is until retail investor Andy Lewis-Pratt and Simon Anderson, the man behind Pitt Cue Co, joined forces to reclaim some of the city’s empty historic architecture transforming them into trendy food halls.

After restoring the original features including the large enamel "TO THE TRAINS" sign and the ticket offices below which now houses a fully stocked bar serving craft ales and more, customers are immersed in a little history of the once buzzing ticket hall. With traders lining the sides of the hall, the middle is free to wooden tables and large overhead hanging pendant lights.

A spicy Taco plate (£11) from Super Tacos with a Press Green Juice (£4) on the side.

The traders all serve different styles of food; between pizza, BBQ, Mexican to name a few, it's a hard decision to make. There's SuperTacos who serve the most delicious tacos that are packed with flavour. Bunchies also do a good twist on the original fried chicken burger as their Jenny From The Block (£10) burger contains a little spice kick with a millennial stamp of avocado.

The trendy setting makes it the perfect venue for an evening out with friends or even to pop in by yourself during the less busy times of the day. Similar to Time Out Lisboa, -the world’s first food and cultural market- the variety of vendors introduce the possibility of a mini food crawl. Expect gorgeous food and great vibes.
